About Lorna Shaw

Thanks for visiting my Portfolio.

• I am a children's picture book enthusiast and I love creating illustrations for children's stories.

• I aim to connect with children through humour in my artwork or by inviting them to think about the external world around them and their internal world of emotions. 

• My images aim to capture small but meaningful moments from life which can help children understand their own lives or can let them escape to imaginary worlds where anything is possible!

• I am also a writer and have created a series of picture book manuscripts for young children which I plan to publish this year. 

• My prior career was working for ten years as a Clinical Psychologist which informed the many themes in my work such as exploring emotions and coping with distress. 

• I live on the West coast of Scotland.
